A drastic change in working environment can make you feel out of sorts, so here we offer simple ways to help take care of your physical and mental well-being while you work from home. We’ve compiled these tips as a result of speaking to friends who are in self-isolation, so we hope they will give you some handy ways to stay happy and healthy.
1. Establish a new routine
Wake up at around the same time each weekday, start work, have proper breaks, do your chores at a certain time each day and have a regular sleep pattern. Aim to get to bed early enough so you get between 6 and 9 hours of sleep each night*
2. Get dressed for work
Long periods and endless days in casuals or pyjamas can start to make you feel lethargic and lazy.
3. Look after your home and body cleanliness
This can help to reduce the spread of germs and declutter your surroundings.
4. Nourish your mind and body
Cook, read, exercise, spend time moisturising after a shower, switch off from electronic devices for an hour before you go to bed, stretch and find ways to relax.
5. Acknowledge how you are feeling
It’s ok to have an occasional low point. Release is good. Feelings of anxiety are perfectly natural and we’re all going through a period of adjustment and establishing a ‘new normal’.
